1 cup puttu flour / 1/2 cup water
1 cup dessicated coconut
Salt to taste.
Dry roast the Puttu flour, it should not change color, roast for less than 5 minutes keep it in a wide vessel. Add salt to warm water, and keep sprinkling the water on rice flour, the flour should be wet without any lumps. Grind desiccated coconut to a coarse powder and sprinkle water so that it regains the coconut flavor. You can steam with coconut for 10 minutes in an idly pot or If you have a puttu maker put one portion of rice flour and one portion of coconut and fill the flour and steam cook for 10 minutes.
